Common Dryers Error and how to fix them

Get rain or shine, your tumble dryer can be an invaluable device at home - especially during the winter months when the laundry can not be left out. But as with all appliances, your dryer is susceptible to failure.

Drum does not spin, but engine works:

To dry the laundry effectively, the dryer must not only provide heat, but the drum also needs to rotate, so the laundry can dry. However, a common mistake with the dryer is that the drum does not rotate.

If this is an error you are experiencing, there is a good chance that the drive belt has become tired or clogged. To test the dryers drive belt, we recommend turning the drum manually. If it is rigid and difficult to move, the drive belt is OK, if it is easy to move, there is a good chance that the drive belt is wrong.

You can confirm your suspicions by removing your tumble dryer and visually checking the belt. If it has snapped or looks significant, you need to replace it.

If the drive belt on your tumble dryer is in good condition, there may be an engine or jockey wheel failure.

No heat from dryer:

The most common mistake with a tumble dryer is that it no longer gives any heat. Thank you in most situations, its also the easiest mistake to fix because it often requires a little more than resetting the dryer, which can be done by pressing the reset button usually found on the back of the device.

If you press the reset button does not work, other areas that may cause the problem may be:

Incorrect heating element - this may fail and although it may sound like an expensive repair it is considered to be one of the easiest repairs you will meet. If you have been defective, you will need a change of dryer.

Incorrect thermostat - The thermostat is equipped to control and monitor the temperature in your tumble dryer. Sometimes these malfunctions may hamper the performance of the device, and if it is incorrect, it needs to be replaced.

Blocked filter / condenser / vent pipe - If your appliance does not heat up and continue to trip, it may be that the filters, the condenser or the valve have been blocked with lint, fluff and other debris. Such blockages prevent air from circulating through the device, which means it can not work as it should and therefore stumble.

It is important that you clean these parts regularly and that you check the condenser box at the bottom of your model, as the fluff may also get caught in it.

Noisy Dryers:

If the device stops while in use, first decode the type of noise that it does and what happens when it makes the noise. Is it squealing / squeaking, rumbling or humming?

Constant squealing - If your tumble dryer makes a constant noise when the drum rotates, it may be because the belt tension belt disc experiences wear. The noise will be worse when the pulley is wearing, which can lead to damage caused by the belt.

In such a situation, it is recommended that you first confirm the belt tension belt disc is the reason for the noise, and in that case you must replace the part.

Whip a few seconds when the drum rotates - the probable cause of such a noise is that the drum turns the layer. A clear sign, this is the case, is a black graphite type dust in the warehouse. If wear on this part exists, you must change the stock.

Rumbling sounds as the drum rotates - the common reason that a messy noise comes as the thumbs drum rotates is that the support wheels have gone out of shape. We recommend that you test this by manually rotating the drum slowly, and if you feel a regular bump you must check and replace the support wheels.

High queen or vibration - if there is high drainage or vibration from the dryer, but it strikes correctly, the fan in your drum may have been distorted and turned off. In this case, the fan must be replaced. (It is worth noting that this applies only to condenser models). If there is a loud noise and no drum rotation, you may have a sealed drum. Check this by turning the drum manually if it rotates as it should, check the engine or capacitor as they may have been erroneous - if they have replaced them.

Knowing about the 3 most common mistakes and how to fix them can help you keep your device at the highest possible performance for a long time.
