The inspiration for the creation of my models rises from the continuous research of a shape/function able to fulfil the purpose for which it has been designed.



Far from the ephemeral formal research of an “astounding” piece hitting its spectators’ eye at any cost, the pieces aim much more to intrigue by their precious details, addressing to a mature and aware audience.



Handicraft is a very powerful source of inspiration, modulated every time on the specific needs, thus enhancing the spread of the most authentic Italian spirit. The combination of these two production methods, industrial and handicrafted, is the guiding thread of all my most recent creations.

It is not a case that they are realized in traditional materials tied to human evolution such as wood, stone, steel and leather. There is a strong desire of planning environment sensitive, easily recyclable items, using the least possible quantity of materials.



Most of all there is a desire of raising basically simple elements, almost archetypes, at higher levels, but never falling into banality. The approach to the project is evidently gestaltic.



Born in 1971, Riccardo Rivoli is concerned with the industrial design for over ten years.

He cooperates with Italian and foreign furnishing companies, besides this he also follows his own line of chairs and tables which he produces and sells directly. Young & Design, IDOT, Top Ten are only some of the recognitions he has been awarded in these years.
