DESIGNING PATH OF A MASTERPIECE
Design is an opportunity, a gift that gives you the chance of realizing and turning into MATERIA something that arises from immaterial and intangible.
I am now nearly convinced that industrial design is tied deeply to the artisanal approach to the manufacturing. Facing difficulties, solving problems, move around boundaries, all topical elements of a method which, through knowledge, skill and flexibility may bring you to hit the target, essential to the creative process: pursuing the original idea, without betraying it until its merely realized. At the bottom of the design practice and in general of design you find the speed and ability of solving all the problems along the path that brings to the project realization.
Regardless of its dimensions, the ability of reinterpreting a boundary may become the real sense of the full project. Essential is never to interrupt the stream flowing towards the realization of the idea: the unforeseen event is a chance that pens new sceneries and may often become a silent guide to the interpretation of our dreams. In short: Design is the idea of what might be.
Born in 1969, in 2000 Marco Fumagalli graduated at the Politecnico in Milan. After a short period devoted to teaching in the same Politecnico, he starts his own practice in 2001 when he founded the MARCARCHstudio on the Lago Maggiore near Stresa.

The building reflects his vision of Architecture, capable to develop projects with strong added value. Their target is a design for a better living which overcomes the barriers of the usual relationship between designer and end-user.

The studio is engaged on many fronts: residential building, developing many house plans, all exclusively personalized on the customer, public spaces as bars, music clubs, retail shops, health resorts.
A special mention for the planning and set up of exhibition stands: a series of important and elaborated projects with high visual impact have been made possible thanks to the cooperation with many influential companies (such as Scirocco, Stokke, Hitachi, Nemo-Cassina, Florida, Paglieri Sell System).
MARCARCHstudio also develops strategies and projects regarding Corporate Identity, Web Design and Art Direction. Stretching its way easily from interior to product design, there is today a very intense cooperation with many companies: Scirocco, Bruno Milano, Valentini Imbottiti, Berloni, Titano Imbottiti, Bimax, Martex, Florida, Giellesse, Cierre, ArteRovereAntico, Palazzetti.

In some cases, the collaboration has been extended to the art direction, converging the design with the company needs in marketing and corporate identity. With Scirocco since 2003, with Berloni from 2007 to 2009, with Florida since 2009 the studio planned and built an integrated project, now bringing advantage s to all the parts involved. They took a new challenge with the recent cooperation with Palazzetti, a leader in the production of fireplaces. This teamwork is focused on a new collection of gas-fueled fireplaces, which adds a new design field full completing their design experience, which ranges from living room furniture seating and programs to complements and lighting.

In April 2010, during Milan’s Design Week, MARCARCHstudio will arrange the event "deSignum_Designum" - The Designer’s Footprint, (www.designum.it), in collaboration with its partner companies in the design sector as Electrolux, Palazzetti, Microsoft, Florida, Martex.

CLIENTS: Scirocco, Bruno Milano, Valentini Imbottiti, Berloni, Titano Imbottiti, Bimax, Martex, Florida, Giellesse, Cierre, ArteRovereAntico, Formal, Palazzetti.
