Hanno Giesler- Designing path of a masterpiece

DESIGNING PATH OF A MASTERPIECE
by Hanno Giesler

My design lies in that border between the functional and precise German world and the typical Italian elegance and creativity. Born in Berlin in 1966, since my youth I have been fascinated by the design environment in Italy, where I moved in 1991 after my degree.

After a long cooperation with Michele De Lucchi I started following my own projects, and today I am working with many furniture and accessories manufacturers, both for the home and the office. My long-time experience with Michele De Lucchi lead me to think in simple forms, highlighting warm and cosy environments.

I design to offer an emotional experience to the end users, trying to find something unexpected in form and function.

I try to balance creativity and aesthetics to conceive durable products, for the daily use yet able to raise a bright atmosphere for pleasant living at home and in the working places.

To reach this aim, a deep knowledge and the thorough search for the perfect materials is really critical, to produce innovative items at a fair selling price.

For example the Diva chair I designed for Colico is made in a special polymer that allows perfect stability although its circular shape, completely open on one side.
