Besides the strictly functional and aesthetical traits of a product, creating design means conceiving and recognizing "beautiful" as simple, but most of all "good" as necessary, sustainable and sensitive. In this direction Tintori has been leading his efforts in the last years: investigating the connections between design and biology. These two realities are terribly different and distant today. Design is standing stationary, rigid, elementary and mainly ephemeral: the exact opposite to what is organic, growing, living. The genetic information marks the organisms with complicated growth and adjustment processes, through signals and dialogues based on chemistry. Our self body is only apparently and grossly symmetrical, just observe how different our own two hands are.

Nevertheless, tomorrow's design will explore the chances to give biological traits to the products: unlike the past, inspired from the sole shape in the creation of leaf-chairs or branches-lamps, tomorrow will be styling and designing a complex genetic code able to force a surface or a joint to change according to the user's needs and lifestyle. The geneticist information could and should be used in projecting and building process, to fill the immense gap between human being and product through morphological structures.
